Alexander and Dance Technique

The work will begin with a sensory awakening; redefining our kinesthetic reference points, the different modes of perception available to us and how we inhabit and construct the space within which we place our gestures.
Emphasis on breath and touch will then allow us to explore, to interrogate and to relate our inner volumes with the dynamics and designs that dance create in space. This work will lead us through notions of weight and orientation, informing us on how to maintain stability while rendering ourselves available to movement and to relations with our environment and others through mobility.
Dance will then take shape in its relation to music, phrasing, dynamics and the various rhythms necessary to building a choreographic structure.
Each participant will be encouraged to accentuate the capacity to explore and further develop these tools in an aim to enhance his or her mode of expressing creativity through movement.
