Composition and Choreography “Working in codes”
How do
we, generate, explore and organise information in our bodies and minds?
What is the information? In what form can we work with it?
Through
identifying what is personal, dialogued, and public, (proximal, distal
and spatial ) to both body and mind, we create the experiential combinations
for kinesthetic, behavioural and designed performance activity.
How do
we investigate, observe, retrieve and organise these activities into
information?
On what terms?
Workshop will explore finding ways to express this in the codes needed to compose
through the body, with the actions of imagination.
Between
ways of attending, reading, being, and imagining.
Exploring time, movement, space, interaction, technique, improvisation,
decision, design.
Discovering
the flow of kinetic, behavioural and designed information that can been
woven into both a solid and fluid event. That of dance.
This is
our material. This is what we can create.
Workshop
will explore how an action involves many combinations.
Those of body, muscle, tissue. Those of instance, recognition, response.
